In the heart of Manchester, inside one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, a little dream took root and grew into something extraordinary.

It began as a spark of inspiration — a love of miniature worlds passed down from a grandad who spent countless hours building dioramas and train sets. That creativity was tucked away for years, waiting for the right moment. And then, with a nudge from life, the encouragement of friends and family, and the shared belief that we were meant for more than just being “a number” in a corporate job, the dream was finally set free and a business partnership began.

With courage, pride, and a dash of Irish luck, we opened our shop doors on St. Patrick’s Day — a date we will now celebrate each year as our shop anniversary. What began as the tiniest of corners inside Afflecks Palace soon blossomed into a bigger space, filled with even more wonder, while still keeping the same charm and magic that made it special from the start. And perhaps, one day, it will grow again.

Being an LGBT-owned business, it was important to us that our shop reflect not just creativity, but community. Afflecks, long celebrated as one of Manchester’s official safe spaces, felt like the perfect home — a place where everyone is welcome, respected, and free to be themselves. That spirit of inclusion is woven into everything we do, and it’s one of the many reasons we chose to build our flagship store here.

Our logo, too, tells a story. At first glance, it’s a castle surrounded by books and filled with miniature magic — but hidden within are symbols of our partnership and history. The balanced books on either side reflect equality and shared purpose, while also nodding to the miniatures we create. Our initials are carefully placed within, and the 17 letters woven into the design pay quiet tribute to the 17 years of friendship that led us here to the business we now both run.

This is more than a store. It’s a celebration of creativity, heritage, and partnership. It’s a world within a world — built small, but carrying something grand.

And this, we believe, is only the beginning.
